Short profile: I spent many of my formative years in Mystical Rose Academy. I then proceeded to Okuapemann School, and had my tertiary education at University of Ghana, precisely the School of Law. I completed in 2020 and then proceeded to the Ghana School of Law the same year. I was called to the Ghana bar in November 2022. I would like to take this opportunity to thank God almighty and my mother, Della Ntiamoah, because I do not know how all of this would have been possible without them. I would also like to thank my family, friends and teachers who have contributed to my becoming a lawyer.
Encouragement and advice to upcoming youth: Set a goal for yourself and aspire to achieve it. There would be challenges, hurdles and tough times you would encounter along the journey, but never give up. It pays to set your eyes on the prize and work at it. Surround yourself with friends and people who inspire and also motivate you. It is also important to have people in your circle who see your light and speak to the winner in you long before you start winning.
Current place of work: Koranteng & Koranteng Legal Advisors
My name is Michelle Oduro-Amoateng and I am an old student of Mystical Rose Academy. I completed in 2012 (Pacesetters group) and I enrolled into Benkum Senior High School to study General Science.
I had my tertiary education at the Regional Maritime University where I studied BSc. Marine Engineering.
After university, I worked as a teaching assistant, an operations technician and an intern in different companies. My seafaring career began when I volunteered as an Engine Cadet with Mercy Ships, a Christian charity organization that provides free medical care to the impoverished.
I believe that my service with Mercy Ships opened bigger career doors for me and I am grateful to God for that. I currently work for Royal Caribbean Group, one of the leading cruise ship companies in the world.
My advice to younger ones is always strive to do things that are past your comfort zone, this is where you will gain a lot of valuable knowledge about what is important to you. Your journey starts now with M.R.A so be active in school and in class and get involved.
My second advice goes to the young girls who have a passion for engineering or any STEM field. Never let your dreams die down because of your gender. Always say these words to yourself; “My gender cannot decide my career”.
There are incredible opportunities awaiting you and I cannot wait to see you all succeed.
Thank you so much to MYROSA for giving me the best fundamental academic experience. I am forever Grateful
